I'm gonna start working my butt off for an Alienware Aurora ALX.  ;D What do you guys think?

You can buy the hardware and build the system for a lot less. I build all my own as well as for friends.
It will save you a lot of money.

Those 2 places are where I buy all my parts.
You can buy all the parts needed from them.

If you really like what's in the Alienware, list the hardware and see how the prices compare at Newegg to build it yourself.

The only software you will need is the OS. I would spec the new system out to run 64 bit hardware and run Windows 7 64 bit on your system. If you can swing it buy the Ultimate or at least Professional version.

Well I checked the components and dell still seems to have the best prices. Could you help me check out the components? The processor is an Overclocked Intel® Core™ i7 975 Extreme (3.6GHz, 8MB Cache), graphics card is a 2GB GDDR5 ATI Radeon™ HD 5970, memory is 12GB Triple Channel 1333MHz DDR3, hard drive 1 is a 600GB RAID 0 (2x 300GB SATA-II, 10k RPM, 16MB Cache HDDs) , number 2 is a 300GB RAID 1 (2x 300GB SATA-II, 10k RPM, 16MB Cache HDDs) , sound card is a Creative Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Titanium and thats it. Dells prices are (these are how much more they are than the other components i think)
Processor: $1,200
Graphics Card: $350
Memory is: $250
Hard Drive 1: $400
Hard Drive 2: (this is total price because there is an option to have none) $500
Sound Card: (this is also total price) $75
finally, there is an anti-lag card thingy that costs $100, is that worth it?
I don't want to ask to much of you but if you could go to dell.com and customize an Aurora ALX and tell me what I do and don't need that would be great.

I thought America=shitty economy???  It's shitty everything... might as well kiss her good bye...  Whats up yall?... listen to me, talking like a hick and its only been a year and a half in OK.  J/K :P  I can't believe you guys are talking about buying a new rigg!!  Mine took a dump!  Haven't had any money for a vid-card cuz my boss couldn't pay me last month!  Said he was paying "his" debt off aggressively... like we don't all have debt! .... pRICK! ...I should report his ass!  I wish I could get some cash to buy something new... give me a bit longer boyz, it sucks right now ??? ??? ???!

Well since I'm not an ultra serious gamer I'm gonna go with the M11X laptop and hook it up to the 52" plasma. Topped her out at 1441$. Let see if I can cash in 441$ for a birthday present and earn $200 more.
